A perfect summer evening in a botanical garden...

This weekend I had a family session in the evening at the Acton Arboretum in Acton, MA. This is one of my favorite places to shoot family portraits as it is a beautifully manicured, park setting with such varied backdrops. Depending on the time of year there are different plants and trees in bloom. I love a natural setting for portraits and as a crazy plant-lady, I am drawn to flowers and interesting bushes and trees. Throw in benches, trellises, bridges and boardwalks and you have a photographers dream location. If you are wondering if a family shoot in this location is right for you, I highly recommend looking through these images and you will see why I love it so much!

This family was amazing to work with. Totally at ease with the camera and they have such a loving, natural way with each other that comes through in all of their photos. J was the most cooperative boy I have ever worked with (my own children included) which makes my life all the easier. My deal with all kids is if you take the formal, smiley posed photos for me then you can take all the silly photos you want too. J took me up on it and I love seeing all of his silly faces and huge jumps! I can't wait to see you all again in the future and thank you for choosing me to capture your family!

If you are interested in a session at the Acton Arboretum, book today while everything is blooming and the weather is perfect for a golden evening session
