A perfect day with the horses...

I received a message one day from a mom wondering if I would be open to doing a senior portrait shoot at her daughter's equestrian farm with her horses. Yes, plural horses. Without hesitation, I said YES and when can we possibly do this. For me, this is a dream shoot. I grew up around horses. My brother had a horse at our home when I was little and I rode a bit at a equestrian stable in NH. My love for horses- their gentle souls, beauty and power- is deep. I worked with M's mom to create a custom session as multiple outfits and horses would not fit one of my typical sessions.

Last week, I met M and her three horses at the beautiful Newbury Farm in Littleton, MA for her High School Senior Portrait session. The weather gods were shining on us and the farm's fields and riding ring provided a beautiful backdrop. But the stars of this session were M, Fury, Brady and Iris. Now, I won't pretend this was a straight forward session. Brady was far more interested in eating leaves off trees then posing for photos and Iris found me terrifying at first. Thankfully, M's skills with her horses and her easy, calm demeanor made the entire experience incredibly pleasant and memorable for me.

M is off to college in the fall and will be on the Equestrian team there. I have no doubt she will be wildly successful in the future. I hope we have more opportunities in the future to capture her again with her beautiful companions because I will be there in a heartbeat!

If you are interested in a Senior portrait session, book today to ensure your spot and to meet your child's yearbook deadline!
